Position Summary
As an Electrical Engineering Technician in our dynamic team, you will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks related to electronic controls for cooking equipment. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and precise operation of our appliances, contributing to the success of our products in the market.
As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will report to the Director of Hardware Engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Select and evaluate electronic components for complex controls for cooking equipment using high voltage installations – ranging from 24 Vac/dc to 400 Vac.
- Perform installations and verifications of electronic controls on cooking appliances i.e., fryers and other appliances and test for performance of heating functions, temperature modulations, and overall quality of the functions.
- Collect performance data on appliances and perform required changes to optimize the performance in support of engineering requests.
- Collect data to verify that controls meet customer requirements as stated in the product requirements document (PRD).
- Research and identify alternative devices (passive and active electronic devices), test for internal specifications over temperature, and make recommendations for design considerations.
- Build electronic circuit prototypes from schematics and verify functionality.
- Participate in design reviews, MCU controller trade off studies, PCB board layout, evaluations, and cost-effective solutions for products.
- Perform functional testing and design of experience for electronic circuits, such as power supplies, DC/AC converters, buck-boost circuits, and various filtering devices.
- Perform function verification and cooking performance of controllers on appliances such as fryers, ovens etc.
- Maintain electronic lab equipment calibrations.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Electronics or have several electronic classes in the Electrical space.
- Ability to read schematics and create Bills of Materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits, and use scopes and meters etc, for collecting data.
- Ability to solder SMT components to printed circuit boards.
- Ability to generate detailed and accurate test plans and reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work well in a team environment.
